About the project

Studio Auður is an interior architecture studio interested in how people experience a space. We designed and built its website around large photographs, simple typography and plenty of room for the work. The layout is quiet, but we had some fun with the navigation and motion.

The whole website in one menu

Open the menu and the page shrinks until you can see all the pages side by side. Choose one and it expands to fill the screen. You get to see where you’re going before you get there. We gave the transitions and small responses to the cursor the same attention as the layouts themselves.

We couldn’t leave the 404 page alone either. We built an interactive 3D house where each room is a page on the website. The living room takes you home, the reading room opens the journal, and the hallway leads to the gallery. If you’re lost, you’re just in the sunroom that hasn’t been built yet.
